Organic SEO for B2B SaaS companies

Traditional organic SEO for technical SaaS companies: a site Google can crawl and understand, and pages that match what buyers search for.

I check the technical basics, research buyer intent, read your Search Console data and improve the pages that should be bringing in buyers.

§01Who it is for

Who this is for.

  • B2B SaaS companies whose buyers search Google before they shortlist
  • Sites where informational articles get impressions but commercial pages do not
  • Teams with Search Console data that nobody has had time to read properly
  • Companies that need SEO done by someone who understands a technical product
§02The problem

The problem it solves.

Many SaaS sites rank for the wrong searches. Blog posts collect impressions for informational questions while the pages that explain the product, the use cases and the pricing barely appear.

Technical issues, such as duplicate pages, weak internal links or missing canonicals, can hold good pages back. They are often cheap to fix once someone finds them.

§03What is included

What the service covers.

Technical SEO

  • Crawling and indexing checks
  • Canonicals, redirects, sitemaps and duplicate pages
  • Structured data, internal linking and page basics
  • Fixes made with access, or written as tickets for your developer

Buyer-intent research

  • Search demand for your category, use cases and alternatives
  • Questions from sales calls and support, matched to searches
  • A map of which page should answer which search

Search Console analysis

  • Queries, pages, positions and click-through rates
  • Searches landing on the wrong page
  • Pages close to the first page that are worth improving

Content and commercial pages

  • Improvements to existing articles and pages
  • New pages for real buyer searches: use cases, comparisons, explanations
  • Product and service pages that match commercial intent
§04SEO and AI search

Where SEO stops and AI search starts.

This page covers ranking in Google's organic results: technical health, search intent, content and commercial pages.

How ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI features describe and recommend your company is a related but different question. It is covered by AI Search Visibility. Much of the groundwork is shared, and most projects need some of both. The quote says which.

Choose SEO when the problem shows up in Search Console: pages not indexed, commercial searches landing on blog posts, rankings just off the first page. Choose AI Search Visibility when the problem shows up in AI answers: your company missing, described wrongly or confused with another.

§10Questions

Questions about B2B SaaS SEO.

Can you guarantee rankings?

No. Nobody outside Google controls rankings. I can fix what holds pages back, build pages that match real searches and report honestly on what changed in Search Console.

Do you need access to our site?

Search Console access is the most useful starting point. For changes, either CMS access or a developer who can publish. Without access, I write implementation-ready tickets and drafts.

How long before results show?

Technical fixes can show within weeks. New pages usually take longer, and some searches take months. Search Console changes are read over enough time to be meaningful.

Is this different from AI search visibility?

Yes, though they overlap. SEO is about Google's organic results. AI search visibility is about how assistants describe and recommend you. Clear, well-structured pages help both.
